Vegan Chyawanprash

Chyawanprash, one of India's most famous anti-aging recipes, is the basis of our Life Extension Elixir's formula. According to Ayurveda, the Chyawanprash recipe falls under the category of a 'Rasayana' tonic, which helps maintain youthfulness, vigor, and vitality of the body, slowing down symptoms associated with aging, including senility and debility. Chyawanprash helps to rejuvenate and maintain proper cell functioning, and as such, also keeps away diseases.

Rasayana formulas are used to impart a long, healthy, disease free life, as well as to promote intelligence, power of memory, youth, and luster. Among all the Rasayanas, Chyawanprash is the most useful, and is the most popular rejuvenating Ayurvedic tonic in India. With a consistency of jam, it includes about 35 natural herbs including amla (embellica officinalis), the richest natural source of vitamin C. Here is the story of how Chyawanprash was first created:
Long, long ago, there was a sage in India named Chyawan who lived in a forest. His hair was matted and he was covered with tree growth after years of meditating in one place. One day, a young princess was blindfolded and dancing in the forest when her hands touched the hair of the sage. Her father, the king, explained to the sage that it was the custom in his country that a woman could only touch one man in her lifetime, and thus requested the sage to marry his daughter. Chyawan asked if he could have two months to prepare for the wedding, for he wished to be young again so as to afford his wife conjugal bliss. Thereupon, he developed the recipe for longevity that has remained India's most popular remedy, some say for 2000 years, others since the times of the Vedas.

A Proven Recipe
Chyawanprash is a unique 'jam', a mix of 49 powerful Ayurvedic herbs with 'amla' (Indian gooseberry) as the base. The other ingredients in this traditional recipe include ashwaganda, pippali, cardamom, nutmeg and cinnamon with coconut oil and agave nectar. We use no ghee (clarified butter). This magic elixir is good for all, irrespective of age and gender, and creates a harmonious synergy in the body leading to improved metabolism. Free radicals and potential polyatomic oxygen toxicity
This is a concern to many: If oxygen metabolites create free radicals in our bodies, aren't they dangerous? In brief, yes-but only to pathogenic organisms that have no defense for it, not your normal, healthy cells. Here is why:

A healthy body has antioxidative defenses that protect cells from potentially harmful effects of normal levels of reactive oxygen metabolites, including the endogenous free-radical scavenging enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase and glutathione peroxides. These antioxidative enzymes comprise the first line of cellular defense against oxidative injury. They function to decompose the precursors, superoxide anion and hydrogen peroxide, before they interact to form the more reactive cytotoxic radical, hydroxyl radical.

Moreover, a second, non-enzymatic defense against oxygen free radicals exists to scavenge those that escape decomposition by anti-oxidant enzymes. Some of the better-known non-enzymatic molecules include alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, vitamin A, ascorbate (vitamin C) and sulfhydroxyl and thioether compounds. In other words, the anti-oxidants act as a sponge for the free radicals that don't attack pathogens.

At Ascended Health, we infuse our products with the strongest natural versions of anti-oxidant molecules: amla, olive oil, coconut oil and other superfoods that are high in natural antioxidant activity. We feel that these are much more effective at "mopping up" excess free radicals than synthetically created Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Vitamin A because anything man-made cannot be as well recognized and therefore utilized in our bodies as natural substances that have been here for ages.


Kaunch

Kaunch is an herb seed used in Ayurvedic medicine. It increases testosterone, increases libido, reduces spasms, lowers blood sugar, lowers blood pressure, increases urination, relieves pain, reduces inflammation, kills parasites, calms nerves, reduces fever, and lowers cholesterol. It is also used as an aphrodisiac, spermatogenetic, androgenic, retentive, L-Dopa alternative, menstrual promoter, uterine stimulant, nerve tonic, anti-Parkinson's, hypoglycemic, anabolic etc.

In addition to its aphrodisiac properties, this herb has been found to produce an antidepressant effect in patients suffering from depressive neurosis. Due to the high concentration of L-dopa in the seeds, it has been studied for its possible use in relieving Parkinson's disease. Kaunch is now being considered as an alternative to the pharmaceutical medication Levodopa. In one case study it was given to a Parkinson's patient for 12 years instead of a pharmaceutical medication, and was found to slow the progression of symptoms (such as tremors, rigidity, slurring, drooling, and balance), and to have none of the side-effects of the current pharmaceutical L-dopa drug. Numerous in vivo studies also have been conducted in rats and humans. In addition, a (2002) U.S. patent was awarded on kaunch, citing its use "for the treatment of disorders of the nervous system, including Parkinson's disease."

It also has reported growth hormone and anabolic stimulant properties due to its ability to increase testosterone. In 2002, a U.S. patent was filed on the use of kaunch to stimulate the release of growth hormone in humans.


Lemurian Crystal Ormus

Ormus is the ground quartz, tourmaline, onyx, agate and moldovite crystals that contain nano-amounts of gold, silver, iridium, palladium, platinum and rhodium. Studies point to its ability to increase the capacity of each cell to conduct electrical impulses, almost like a high performance re-wiring for the entire body. The pure powder is taken dried under the tongue or mixed with water to produce an effect of cellular super-conduction.

These Lemurian crystals are found in an ancient meteorite bed thought to be over 1.6 billion years old, and are the basis for the imprinting for the oral elixirs.
